Corneal cross-linking has an excellent safety profile and is the standard of care for progressive keratoconus. Miss Khanam will discuss all potential risks with you.
Corneal haze
Mitigation: Usually temporary and resolves within 3-6 months
Discomfort for 2-3 days post-procedure
Mitigation: Pain relief and bandage contact lens provided
Temporary vision reduction
Mitigation: Vision typically returns to baseline within 1-3 months
Infection
Mitigation: Antibiotic drops and close monitoring
Treatment failure (continued progression)
Mitigation: Repeat cross-linking may be considered
