Recovery

Your Recovery Journey

ICL surgery recovery is remarkably quick. Most patients notice a dramatic improvement in vision within hours of the procedure and can return to most activities within 1-2 days.

The procedure does not involve any corneal reshaping, which means recovery is typically faster and more comfortable than laser eye surgery.

Day of surgery

The procedure takes 15-20 minutes per eye. Vision improves noticeably within hours. You will go home with eye drops and a protective shield.

  • No rubbing your eyes
  • Begin drops as directed

Aftercare

Aftercare Instructions

After ICL surgery, you will use antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drops as prescribed, typically for 2-4 weeks. Preservative-free lubricating drops can be used as needed.

Avoid rubbing or pressing on your eyes. Wear the protective shield when sleeping for the first few nights. Avoid getting water directly in your eyes for the first week.

Attend all follow-up appointments, as monitoring eye pressure is particularly important in the first 24-48 hours. After your initial recovery, annual check-ups are recommended to ensure the ICL remains well-positioned and your eyes healthy.
