Suitability depends on your prescription, corneal thickness, pupil size, and overall eye health. During your consultation, Miss Khanam performs a comprehensive assessment including corneal topography and pachymetry. Generally, candidates are aged 18+, have a stable prescription, and adequate corneal thickness.
Most patients see clearly within 24 hours and can return to desk work the next day. You should avoid rubbing your eyes for two weeks and swimming for four weeks. Miss Khanam will see you at 1 day, 1 week, and 1 month post-operatively.

No. Anaesthetic eye drops completely numb the eye before the procedure. You may feel a mild pressure sensation for a few seconds when the laser is applied, but there is no pain. Some patients experience mild grittiness for a few hours afterwards.
LASIK results are permanent. The corneal reshaping does not reverse. However, natural age-related changes (such as presbyopia after 40) can affect near vision over time. A small percentage of patients may benefit from an enhancement procedure years later.
