One of the great advantages of LASIK is its rapid recovery. Most patients are pleasantly surprised by how quickly their vision improves and how little disruption the procedure causes to their daily routine.
Miss Khanam provides detailed aftercare instructions and is available for direct contact throughout your recovery. You are never left guessing about what is normal.
Day of surgery
Rest at home with eyes closed for 4-6 hours. Mild watering, grittiness, or light sensitivity is normal. Use prescribed drops as directed.

1 day after
Post-operative check with Miss Khanam. Most patients can see clearly enough to drive. You may return to desk-based work.
- Avoid dusty or smoky environments
- Continue prescribed drops
1 week after
Follow-up appointment. Vision continues to sharpen. Most daily activities can be resumed comfortably.
- No swimming or hot tubs
- No eye makeup
- Avoid rubbing your eyes
2-4 weeks after
Vision typically stabilises. You can resume exercise, sports, and most activities. Any residual dryness is managed with lubricating drops.
- No contact sports without protective eyewear
1 month after
Final routine follow-up with Miss Khanam. Vision should be stable and clear. Ongoing lubricating drops as needed.
Aftercare
Aftercare Instructions
Following your LASIK procedure, you will be given a clear aftercare pack including antibiotic drops, anti-inflammatory drops, and preservative-free lubricating drops. Miss Khanam will explain exactly when and how to use each one.
Wear the protective eye shields provided when sleeping for the first week to prevent accidental rubbing. Avoid getting water directly in your eyes when showering for the first few days.
Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments — these are essential for monitoring your healing and catching any issues early. If you notice any sudden pain, significant vision change, or discharge between appointments, contact Miss Khanam directly.
