Lens Options
Choosing Your Lens
One of the most important decisions in cataract surgery is the choice of lens implant. The lens you choose determines how well you see at different distances after surgery — and whether you will need glasses.
Miss Khanam will guide you through the options and recommend the lens that best matches your lifestyle, visual demands, and eye anatomy. There is no "best" lens — only the best lens for you.
Standard monofocal lenses provide excellent distance vision, but you will need reading glasses. Toric lenses correct astigmatism alongside cataracts. Multifocal and EDOF (Extended Depth of Focus) lenses offer the possibility of clear vision at all distances without glasses.
Miss Khanam will explain the benefits and trade-offs of each lens type clearly, including the higher chance of glare and halos with multifocal lenses, so you can make a confident, informed choice.
